Percutaneous transluminal valvuloplasty
The valvuloplasty, is an endovascular therapy procedure which purpose is to alleviate a heart valve stenosis, this procedure involves the use of specially designed balloons (Inoue). Currently, the percutaneous valvuloplasty with balloons is the election treatment in patient with symptomatic valvular stenosis and in absence of contraindications, it is frequently icarried out on the mitral valve. The percutaneous valvuloplasty with balloon on the mitral stenosis, except for contraindications, is an effective procedure that also avoids the costs and the risks of a bigger surgery.
