What is a heart attack and how to recognize it?

The narrowing and the obstruction of the arteries are more commonly caused by aterosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). The aterosclerosis associates with illnesses of the heart, but it can affect arteries of any part of the body, including the legs and the brain. It is a gradual process of accumulation of cholesterol and other fats (plaque) in the walls of the arteries. These plaques form a barrier that limits the flow of blood in the arteries toward the surrounding tissues and organs. Other barriers for the proper sanguine flow are clots or plaques that detach off of the wall of the sanguine vessels and they stuck in an artery. When a clot of blood, a plaque or scar tissue produces a narrowing of the artery or obstruct it totally, the blood circulation is limited and the organs and tissues that artery should feed don't receive enough oxygen. The angioplasty and the placement of a vascular stent are commonly used body arteries are narrowed or ocluded.
