Intra arterial chemotherapy

The intra arterial chemotherapy consists on administering the treatment directly in the tumor or in its sanguine vessels (regional and local treatment), this helps to take better advantage of the properties of the drug or of the own tumoral circulation. This method greatly maximizes the therapeutic effect of the drug on the affected organ, minimizing their noxious effects in the rest of the organism. The intra arterial chemotherapy is a form of endovascular therapy highly effective in the treatment of the tumors, due to its great selectivity of the area of interest.
